The new car manufacturer Automobili Pininfarina has just released unpublished images of its almost entirely electric hypercar, named PF0. The two-seat AWD transmission will offer approximately 1,900 hp and 2,300 Nm of torque, the first being double that of a Formula One car. In terms of performance, the zero time at 100 km / h is lower at two seconds; 0-300 km / h in 12 seconds; and the maximum speed is 402 km / h.
The company's CEO, Michael Perschke (former boss of BMW and Audi), said the PF0 had a cruising range of at least 450 km and that it would seek to provide a system fast charge capable of recharging the car's battery to 80% in just 40 minutes. The car will be built around a carbon fiber monocoque, with batteries (coming from Rimac Automobili) placed both between the front seats and behind the rear bulkhead.
Several reports have suggested that equipment for the production car will be outsourced to well-established, high-end manufacturers, which include components such as braking systems and seats.
The hypercar will be entirely hand-built in Turin, Italy (although the headquarters of the company is located in Munich), with a production limited to 150 copies worldwide. More than 35 vehicles on the North American market have already been reserved after the presentation of the model to potential buyers. Another 50 will be allocated to European markets and the remaining 50 will be shared between the Middle and Far East markets.
What is the cost of owning such an exclusive hypercar? If you had to ask, its price varies between 2 and 2.5 million pounds, or between 10.7 million and 13.4 million RM. However, you are essentially paying for exclusivity because the company will rely on existing technology rather than spending money to develop proprietary technology. Automobili Pininfarina will focus instead on overall interior and exterior design, including on fit and finish.
The birth of the PF0 also marks the beginning of the new 'Pura' design language, which emphasizes elegance and simplicity instead of the resolutely modernist approach that influences most today's supercars.
Coach, who had access to a prototype, said the car has two active rear baffles that can also be used as air brakes, but the baffles of the production version will be modified to operate as a single unit. The nose of the car also has active aerodynamics: the entire top of the cone serves as a spoiler that can lift and the rear diffuser is also adjustable. To complete the set, the PF0 comes with a completely flat underbody.
The design of the cabin is not yet fixed, but a model showed a cabin dominated by two display screens mounted high on each side of the steering wheel, directly in front of the driver.
In the future, Automobili Pininfarina and Pininfarina SpA will invest 20 million euros (95 million euros) in the design, development and production of PF0 and future models, among which three SUVs introduced on a period of five years.
The most nasty of this lot is code-named PF-One, a high performance SUV of about 950 hp (with a battery of 140 kWh), able to compete with the Lamborghini Urus. The other two SUVs will be opposed to the Porsche Cayenne and Porsche Macan respectively. A common modular platform will be used, although designed and optimized to suit each model.
An insider of the company said to the publication: "Pininfarina has always manufactured very special cars, but usually for other people.
