HONG KONG: Hong Kong celebrity Eric Tsang has been involved in a car accident in Japan on Christmas day, according to the Hong Kong media.

The 65-year-old actor was driving a private car to Hokkaido when he collided with a seven-seater carrying a senior Hong Kong police officer, Apple Daily reported on Wednesday (December 26th). The accident occurred around 1 pm, the report said.

Li Zhi Heng, director of the Hong Kong Police Criminal and Security Division, was injured in the spine and had to be airlifted to the hospital for surgery, Apple said.

RTHK added that Li was conscious after the accident, but felt numb in the lower part of his body. It is understood that Li was on vacation with his family at the time of the incident, reported RTHK.

Tsang and her partner – whose information is only the name of Ms. Li, 40 years old – were not injured.

Tsang's daughter, Bowie, confirmed through her manager that her father had an accident.

He was charged with sexual misconduct earlier this year, but denied the allegations.
