SUBANG JAYA: Firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, 24, seriously injured in a crash at Sri Maha Mariamman Temple of USJ 25 Tuesday morning, was transferred to the National Institute of Cardiology around 11:30 last night.

Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said his decision was made after a discussion between IJN and Subang Jaya Medical Center (SJMC), where he was under protection.

"This decision was made after Adib showed positive developments.

"At IJN, there is a machine that can help increase the supply of oxygen to your lungs.

"So we decided to transfer Adib around 10:30 pm after obtaining the consent of her parents," she said after visiting the victim at SJMC before being transferred to IJN.

During the early morning incident, Adib was reportedly assaulted by a group while he was serving in front of the temple.

According to Zuraida, Adib's condition would be stable after being treated in SJMC's intensive care unit (ICU).

"His blood pressure has also improved, although he is currently sedated," she said.
