KUALA LUMPUR: The government is studying the possibility of limiting equity equity of political leaders or parties in media organizations, said Gobind Singh Deo.

To answer a supplementary question from Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri (PBB-Batang Sadong), Gobind said there was no problem of freedom of the media in Sarawak.

However, Gobind has questioned the position of the state government in issuing circulars preventing Pakatan Harapan leaders from attending their meetings.
"I have stated my position several times in the House.The events organized by the state government are covered, but we see how the Sarawak State Government issued circulars preventing Pakatan leaders to attend their meetings.
"With regard to independence, you must practice what you preach.
"You say that you are in favor of Pakatan, but at the same time, you do not allow the leaders to attend the functions of the state.
"Then you come here to ask me about policy to help the Sarawak government.
"If I could, I would avoid and say I do not," said Gobind, replying to Nancy, who had asked questions about the ministry's position on media coverage of events in her state. .
Nancy intervened and reminded the minister that it was not a dialogue.
"I'm talking about media freedom, not other programs, do not mix them in. I'm sure you're very professional," Nancy said.
Mr. Gobind, however, reiterated his position and said that the state should be fair to all leaders.
"I know you're a professional, talk to your chief minister," he added.
