Huawei gave a brief overview of his first screenless phone, Nova 4. According to the famous technology blog WinFuture.de, the smartphone would have been shown at a concert in China. Instead of a notch, the Huawei Nova 4 has a small circular cutout in the upper left corner of the camera lens. The front speakers, the proximity sensor and the ambient light sensors are either integrated under the glass screen or moved to another part of the smartphone.
The notch is one of the most controversial design decisions on modern smartphones. Samsung has publicly mocked the design several times, most recently with the Google Pixel 3 XL, tweeting that it "could land a plane on it". The Huawei Nova 4 is hardly known, apart from its brand new screen design without clutter. However, rumors suggest that the device will carry the same triple camera configuration vertically aligned as on the Huawei P20 Pro earlier this year.
The three cameras located at the back of the handset will allegedly offer wide-angle images, an artificial bokeh-style blur on the background of portraits of your family, friends and pets, as well as a three times optical zoom and improved performance in low light. .
Huawei is not the only company that is desperately trying to eradicate the hack. The rival manufacturer, Nubia, has created a truly complete display by completely abandoning the annoying selfie camera, the speakers and the sensors located at the front of the handset.
Instead, phone owners will have to use rear-mounted cameras for their selfies, aided by a second screen at the back of the phone to help compose the cliche.
