Kate Middleton's style has conquered fashion lovers around the world, from her dream wedding dress Alexander McQueen to her dazzling historical jewelry. Continuing her royal duties this month, she turned heads for her turquoise Emilia Wickstead dress and Paul Ka berry suit. Kate's sapphire dress was a resounding success when the royal couple announced their engagement in November 2010.
It was sold a few hours after the announcement, a recurring theme in Kate's highly sought-after wardrobe.
The 2016 documentary "William & Kate: The Journey" features commentary from the fashion world on Kate's envied style.
Joe Zee, creative director of US ELLE Magazine, said Kate "shone" at the announcement of her engagement and that her "classic" look would stand the test of time.
Fashion editor Emily Dean also reveals the carefully planned message Kate sent in her choice of the beautiful jewel-colored Issa dress.
It was important that Kate's engagement outfit be "simple, elegant and chic," she says.
Her dress "was not incredibly expensive [and] "was not fabulously adorned".
Unlike the old royal ensembles, it was "not a jewel that took six months to build an old Parisian design house".
"I think it sent a pretty clear message about their young modern royal couple," Dean said.
The knee-length dress had a skin-tight front and its color matched the sapphire of Princess Diana's famous engagement ring.
Kate's choice by London design firm Issa has also consolidated her reputation as a British fashion ambassador.
The Duchess's style continued to be reflected in the way she dressed Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and newcomer Prince Louis.
In the footsteps of his mother, the adorable Prince Charles portrait of Prince Louis' 70th birthday also sold.
