Kedah Sultan visits injured firefighter, Muhammad Adib

KUALA LUMPURRoom: The Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Halluddin Sultan Badlishah visited Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, the firefighter seriously injured during the riot that broke out at Sri Maha Mariamman Temple at USJ 25 on November 26 in Subang Jaya .

The Sultan was received upon his arrival at the National Institute of Cardiology (IJN) here at noon by Azmin Osman, director of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, and by Nordin Pauzi, director of the JBPM at Kuala Lumpur.

Sultan Halluddin spent nearly 30 minutes during his visit to Muhammad Adib from Kuala Kedah, Kedah.

During the incident that occurred early Tuesday morning, Muhammad Adib was assaulted by a group of rioters while he was responding to an emergency at the temple.

Muhammad Adib, who suffers rib fractures and internal injuries, has already been treated at the Ramsay Sime Darby Medical Center in Subang Jaya before being transferred to the IJN Tuesday night.

The director general of the IJN, Datuk Seri, Dr. Mohd Azhari Yakub said this morning that Muhammad Adib was still in critical condition, but stable.

The noise at the temple erupted around 26h on November 26th, about his move to a new site.

Police have already arrested 30 people to facilitate the investigation of the incident.
