PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian parody of the Bohemian Rhapsody song by the British rock band Queen has become viral on social media.
The five-minute song talks about mamak's popular restaurants, which are an integral part of Malaysian culture.
"Mamak, Yang ku tercinta (my favorite), Harga Semua Murah (cheap price), Makanan juga sedap (food is also tasty), Mamak, life is just beginning," says the chorus of the song, which has have been read more than 11,000 times on YouTube since they were uploaded a few days ago.
The song creatively makes references to the food typically found in a mamak and to a typical experience of a late night getaway.
A YouTube user said the song was the best parody of the year, while another said the song was a "pure genius".
This song comes shortly after the publication on Twitter of an article titled "Briyani Rhapsody" featuring a Freddie Mercury look-alike in a local restaurant recently turned viral.
Mercury was Queen's flamboyant and eccentric singer. His film, Bohemian Rhapsody, is currently showing in cinemas around the world.
According to a news portal, the film shook the box office, bringing in $ 50 million (RMB 209 million) to debut in 4,000 theaters in North America.
He also mentioned that the film had generated a mixed critical response, although the audience adopted it with a 96% score on rotten tomatoes.
The film was shown in cinemas across the country on November 8, 2018.
