KUALA LUMPUR: Bhd MISC signed two contracts for the supply of two of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers to LNG Shipping S.p.A for 133 million US dollars (RMB 558 million).

MISC announced on Tuesday at Bursa Malaysia the hourly charters for LNG Portovenere and LNG Lerici for operations in international waters.

"The vessels will be chartered by LSS for a five-year period with a combined contract value estimated at US $ 133 million. The LNG charter in Portovenere should begin in December 2018, while the LNG charter in Lerici should begin in January 2019, "he said.

MISC stated that the contracts were in accordance with a memorandum of understanding between LSS and MISC, which allowed MISC to acquire ownership of LSS vessels.

"Under the terms of the contracts, LSS, wholly-owned by Eni SpA, was incorporated on July 26, 2001, and operates in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) marine transportation business through the use of two exclusive vessels.
