The economical Samsung Galaxy M series is expected to get a powerful new device very soon. It seems that Samsung is working on a Galaxy M40 and that it is the first device in the range running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
A new device with the SM-M405F model has recently been spotted on Geekbench and SM6150 is listed under system information. This code name is also known as the Snapdragon 675 processor, which also powers the current Galaxy A70 and Vivo V15 Pro.
Other than that, the device is also listed with 6GB of RAM and it is likely to come with 128GB of storage, similar to its current Galaxy M30. The Galaxy M40 with the SM-M405F has recently passed the WiFi-Alliance certification and supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. The rest of the specifications are not yet known and we think the screen should be bigger than the Galaxy M30.
For reference, the Galaxy M30 features a 6.4-inch Full HD + Super AMOLED display and is powered by an Exynos 7904 processor. The device receives a set of 13MP f / 1.9 main + 5MP ultra cameras wide-angle + 5MP + depth, while the front features a 16MP f / 2.0 selfie camera on its U-shaped notch. Similar to the Galaxy M20, the M30 also receives a huge battery of 5 000 mAh which supports fast charging of 15 W via USB-C.
If Samsung continues the trend to have a battery of 5,000 mAh, the Galaxy M40 could be an interesting candidate in the mid-range, less than 1500 RM. In India, the current Galaxy M30 is priced at 17,990 INR (about 1,077 RMB) for its high-end 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model.
