The director of Avengers 4 says that Chris Evans "is not finished" playing Captain America

Although Chris Evans suggested hanging up Captain America's shield after the upcoming Avengers movie, one of his directors said the opposite.

In an interview with USA Today, Joe Russo, co-director of Avengers 4, talked about a tweet that Evans sent goodbye to Captain America. Russo said, "I think it's been more emotional for him than for us just because he's not finished yet, and I will not explain what it means, but the audience will soon understand what I'm talking about. . "

In his initial comment, Evans said that when the filming of Avengers 4 was over, it was "a day to say the least moving", highlighting the eight years he had spent playing Captain America. "To all those who are in front of the camera, behind the camera and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful." Evans had previously stated in an interview that he was unlikely to renew his contract with Marvel Studios after Avengers 4.

Elsewhere in the interview, Russo said the film was halfway through the editorial process and lasted about three hours in its unfinished state: the same length of time reported earlier this month.

While Avengers 4 was almost finished, the Russo brothers were working on the film but also had time to meet with the other directors of MCU on the set of Star Wars: The Mandalorian.
