The Southampton sideback believes his team is able to exert more pressure on a Premier League rival who has struggled to retain his consistency

Manchester United's "scared factor" has finally disappeared, said Southampton defender Matt Targett, in which Jose Mourinho's team was considered a less important threat than the former Red Devils.

At the time of the Premier League, 13 titles were won by Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson has won all these crowns and his rebuilding process has been humiliating since his departure in 2013.

Mourinho is the latest to take on this challenge, but he struggles to replicate past successes and currently has his team in seventh place in the English standings.

He hopes to become more mobile during his visit to Southampton on Saturday, but Targett said the Saints were hopeful to exert more pressure on the Portuguese coach.

"The fear factor has definitely disappeared," he said before a clash with United at St Mary's Stadium.

"You can see how United played recently. They always have incredible talent, but on defense, I think they have problems.

"It's a great match. They struggle. It's not like old Manchester United. We can reach them and, hopefully, start to change things.

"No matter what game at home, you must be positive. We have not done enough this season.

"It will be a good opportunity to start on Saturday. It would do us good and bring the fans back to our side. "

Targett is right to suggest that United has had problems in the back this season, with 21 goals conceded in just 13 games.

This is the worst result of the first half and 16 more than the Manchester City and Liverpool title hopes.

The Mourinho team have only kept five blank sheets in all competitions, including only two in the Premier League.
