KINI ROUNDUP | Here are the headlines that you may have missed yesterday, in short.

Minister claims lawyers paid thugs

Interior Minister Muhyiddin Yassin revealed that lawyers working for the developer who owned the disputed Seafield property, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, reportedly hired the group that landed on Monday morning.

Muhyiddin further questioned the source of the 150,000 RM that was allegedly paid to the men who invaded the Seafield Temple.

The developer, One City Development Sdn Bhd, refused to hire "thugs", and stated that he only sent "personnel" to the temple grounds under police surveillance to support the resettlement.

The law firm Skrine, who represents the sponsor in the proceedings related to the land, denied that his lawyers were involved in the payment.

The president of the Malaysian bar, George Varughese, said the lawyers in question had committed serious professional misconduct and promised to take action against them.

Waste from the fire department is "destroyed"

Fire and Rescue Chief Executive Mohammad Hamdan Wahid told the fire department to another injured staff member, Muhammad Adib Mohd Kasim.

Earlier, the Seafield Temple committee said Adib was not beaten Tuesday by a crowd outside the temple, but rather "mowed down" by a fire truck in reverse.

In a separate video clip making his tour, one can see a group of men carrying a wounded firefighter – allegedly Adib – to a pickup truck to be sent to the hospital.

Adib's condition would have improved after being transferred to the National Institute of Cardiology.

Police Inspector General Mohamad Fuzi Harun said that Bukit Aman had formed a special task force to assist the Selangor police in their search for rioters.
