Those who still complain about the loss of V8 in Aussie have received a lifesaver, and this comes from an unlikely place.
Mercedes-Benz is preparing to launch a more powerful version of its system. X-Class double-cab in Australia this end of the year, and while the brand is pleased with the performance of the X350d V6, some of its engineers admit that there is more on their wish list.

Schumacher eagerly underlined his satisfaction with the V6 model, before tentatively suggesting that a V8 would occur if he had the opportunity, and even joking about the doubling of the number of cylinders

An updated Amarok is being manufactured, which is rated at producing 190 kW and 580 Nm, with an additional 10 kW available through a function overboost that can raise engine performance to 200 kW for short periods.
Mercedes could potentially extract more power and torque from its V6 in the X-Class. Its OM642 engine produced up to 195 kW and 620 Nm in other applications, but if customers still want more, a V8 engine could be the solution.
According to Schumacher, the packaging of an engine V8 bay of the X-Class is no problem, although the basic architecture of the double cab prov only four-cylinder Nissan Navara.
