The Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak, an all-electric racing car designed to conquer the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, broke the general record at the famous race event last month.
VW released an impressive video of the recorded record run of a helicopter that can barely follow the electric racing car.
The Volkswagen ID R Pikes Peak climbed to 7:57 – beating the previous record of 8:13 set by none other than Sébastien Loeb on a Peugeot 208 T16 in 2013.
C & # 39 is impressive because VW was breaking the record for the electric prototype class, which is currently 8: 57.118 minutes, set in 2016 by Rhys Millen in New Zealand
The 12.4 mile route begins just over 9,000 feet and climbs to the summit at 14,115 feet above sea level. It takes a good balance of power, power and weight.
