Pauses the search for a boatman who would have been killed

Since two days, the underwater exploration took place after the disappearance of the boatman Jan Rydheim (56 years) in Nordhordland.

The search mainly took place in an area located west of Rongevær, in Austrheim County, where police believe the boat hit a slope and sank.

Now the search is over because of bad weather on Wednesday and Thursday, the police told BA.

"We are implementing new research as soon as the weather permits.This may not happen until Monday, if the weather does not improve," said Sheriff Kjell Idar Vangberg in Lensman district in Nordhordland.

The police hired a company using an underwater vehicle (ROV) to recover the area in which the boat is presumed to have broken down.

Colleagues at work assist

No new leads have appeared this week, but the police say everything indicates that the search area is correct.

"We assume the boat has fallen, but we do not know how.We are looking for the boat and hope the man is in the boat or nearby," said Vangberg.

The police authorized the captain to help his co-workers to search with their own boat and they have been there for two days.

The conversation was broken

The last sighting of the boat took place on the north side of Fensfjorden, on the way to Bergen.

Aged 56, he would sell the boat to Bergen. Last Friday, at 10:30 am, he spoke to a friend on the phone. Suddenly, the friend heard a dunk and the conversation was interrupted.

The friend then contacted the chief relief center, which launched a rescue action.

Sunday, the national rescue center concluded the operation. Other researches take place after the alleged perpetrator.
