Fats, food residues, wet wipes and a lot more waste in the toilets will pose even greater drainage problems than those resulting from regular use and wearing.

Lein tells us that all this will be a plug in the drainage system. At Christmas, this question is particularly relevant because we eat a lot more fat food than in the year.

– The remaining residues will remain in the residual waste. It's easy to understand when you see how the fat thickens when it cools. You do not want this fat to form plugs in your drain, "says Lein.

– During the Christmas season, the range of breeches, pantyhose and ties in the sewer increases. The assessment seems to diminish as alcohol consumption increases, says Lein, who thinks that everyone is really able to understand that the clothes are not going to run out.

The fact that people are careless and inadequate entails huge additional costs for municipalities, and the bill ends up with residents.

"The total gap in retention for maintenance is huge in the country and municipalities need every penny for regular maintenance and investments in new pipelines, wastewater treatment plants and others. As an engineer of the municipality, I am told that it is very difficult to get people to understand the simple message that is given them to know what will happen and not to go to the bathroom. Despite a lot of attention around this, there are still many who use it as an ordinary trash bin.

Dense pipes at home can also provide an immediate cost.

– The facts about plumbing on Christmas Eve are not cheap. Ribs and other liquid fats should be poured into a milk carton and discarded. You can also make it stiff, it's easier to get rid of cold fat than hot liquid fat, "says Lein.
