A 49-year-old man, charged with serious bodily harm, was released after being questioned.
The man was found outside on Monday 19, near Fyllingsdalen church in Bergen. The man was rushed to Haukeland Hospital and his condition is still critical Tuesday night.
He could not be questioned yet, police attorney Kristine Knutsen-Berge told police.
"The survey up to now suggests that there was a relationship between the people involved," Knutsen-Berge said.
According to the police lawyer, the victim who was arrested for the first time could be detained on Wednesday, writes the daily Bergensavisen.
According to Knutsen-Berge, he finds himself in police records, but tells VG that it's not what we could call "police convictions".

Whether the alleged acts of violence were committed with any machine or weapon, or that a seizure was made, the police prosecutor does not want to say anything about it.
For the Bergen newspaper, Frode Kolltveit, head of operations, of the West Police District, said the man had a gaping mouth when he had been found.
The police work to collect evidence and map the course of events. The incident is considered serious and the police say they have put a lot of staff to deal with the case.
