Amedia acquires all the shares of media company Nordsjø Media, which owns nine local newspapers in Rogaland and West Agder. The acquisition is expected to take place in early 2019.
Nordsjø Media owns the newspapers Jærbladet, Dalane Tidende, Agder, Sandnesposten, Solabladet, Strandbuen, Gjesdalbuen, Bygdebladet and Lyngdals Avis. They have a total of 48,413 copies. The annual turnover is about 160 million euros and they total 110 man-years.
Nordsjø Media President Ivar Rusdal said:
"The media industry is changing, we have come to a point where newspapers and homeowners need to be renewed.The best way to ensure the future of our local visors is to let the property. a professional media company.Our home press deserves an active owner who invests in technology and know-how.Amedia is a strong and long term owner who has proven that she is better than any ability to develop So it's very important to us that Amedia take control of Nordsjø Media.
Amedia is growing with this portfolio of local newspaper acquisitions from 63 to 72.
The CEO of the group Are Stokstad in Amedia comments on the acquisition:
"Amedias' main task is to provide Norway with a wealth of powerful local newspapers across the country, and after the acquisition, Amedia will have nearly 900 journalists in local communities around the world to meet the needs of residents in matters of information, debate, knowledge and identity.
Amedia exchanged 3.5 billion crowns in 2017.
