The media group Amedia acquired Nordsjø Media, which owns nine local newspapers in Rogaland and Vest-Agder.

Amedia takes ownership of Jærbladet, Dalane Tidende, Agder, Sandnesposten, Solabladet, Strandbuen, Gjesdalbuen, Bygdebladet and Lyngdals Avis.

Nordsjø Media and Amedia agree that Amedia will acquire all the shares of the media company that owns nine local newspapers in Rogaland and West Agder. The acquisition is expected to take place in early 2019.

In total, companies employ about 110 full – time equivalents and realize an annual turnover of about 160 million NOK.

Nordsjø Media AS is owned by Dalane Tidende and Egersunds Avis AS, Avisen Agder Holding AS and Vimer AS. The agreement requires the approval of the general meetings of the three owners, in addition to the board of the Amedia group. The transaction will be notified to the Norwegian Competition Authority.

All formalities should be clarified early in 2019.

With this acquisition, Amedia owns 72 local newspapers.
