The Audi E-Tron GT concept is called this car that appears for the first time as an exhibition car at the Los Angeles Motor Show. This will be serialized two years ago and will become the third all-electric Audi car, after E-throne will arrive immediately in Norway and his successor, E-tron Sportback, the year next.
It is clear that Audi is really competing with the Tesla Model S with this car. The concept model has 590 horsepower assembled from two engines and is installed in the ground by four-wheel drive, of course. The car is 4.96 meters long, one centimeter shorter than the American competitor. The width is the same while Audien is six centimeters lower than Tesla. The spacing of the axles is 2.90 meters, six inches less than the competitor, which means less space in the interior. A large tailgate hides a luggage compartment of 450 liters. The Audi also has an extra 100 liters under the hood.
In its press release, Audi writes that the technology was developed in close collaboration with Porsche. Therefore, it will probably have many similarities with Porsche Taycan, which will be launched next year. There is a car that more than 2400 Norwegians must have already booked.
A zero at 100 km / h will take 3.5 seconds, while 200 km / h will be eliminated in 12 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 240 km / h to maintain the autonomy. The concept car seduced by "more" 400 kilometers of autonomy of 90 kWh. By comparison, a Tesla Model S with a 100kWh battery in the Performace version would clear the zero at 100km / h in 2.7 seconds and would have a measured range with the old 613km NEDC system.
As the pictures show, the Audis electric car has a well-known grill, which is strictly not necessary for an electric car.
– For Audi, it would be a serious mistake to remove the grill. For our customers, it is the Audi DNA. Before 2004, we did not have a unique face. It is very important that we do not leave our face so we said why not return it. For me, it's still an Audi, but without an internal combustion engine. That's the face of all our future electric cars, said design director Marc Lichte in an interview with Autocar.
For the most interested, Audi argues that the acceleration of the car can be exploited several times in a row, because it has a sophisticated cooling system. The battery can be charged wirelessly, but for the fastest possible charge, 800 V charging systems can be used. A load of 350 kW ensures that the battery is filled to 80% in 20 minutes.
Audi will work with Porsche on its so-called "Premium Platform Electric" (EPP). This will form the basis of many Audi electric models of the B-to-D segment. In 2025, Audi said the company should offer 12 electric models.(Conditions)Copyright Dagens Næringsliv AS and / or our suppliers.
