After three and a half years of Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard has chosen to let go of the development of the game. The developer promises to continue to live in the title MOBA, but players must prepare for less new content in the future.

Prioritize other projects

In a letter to fans, J. Allen Brack and Ray Gresko – President and Vice President of Blizzard – claim that there was no simple decision to abolish the plans of Heroes of the Storm. However, as a result of an internal evaluation, it was decided that the company should prioritize other non-advertised projects.

– As a result, we have transferred developers to other projects and we look forward to seeing the passion, knowledge and experience that they will bring to these projects. This is not the first time we have to make similar hard choices. Games like Diablo II, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Overwatch and others would never exist if we had not made similar decisions, writes the duo.

Brack and Gresko assure Blizzard not to give up the game and promise fans more heroes, temporary fashions or challenges and other content. This will only go further between each package with additional content, and the main goal of the team will be to ensure that Heroes of the Storm will provide a stable experience for a long time.

In addition, developer alerts are changing on the e-sports front and are less present next year. The annual Heroes Global Championship and Heroes of the Dorm tournaments will not come back in 2019, as Blizzard can no longer meet the expectations of fans and players.

Blizzard probably started working on Diablo IV.
According to rumors, the game becomes a darker affair than its predecessor »
