The van, a Mercedes Sprinter, was stolen from Lørenskog station. This weekend, the police went to search the premises after learning that the car contained a container containing cyanide, a highly toxic substance.

On Monday morning, police said the car was still missing. There is no suspect either.

The case is still being investigated as a serious robbery and the police do not exclude the unloading of the cargo.

"If someone discovers suspicious objects, we ask that the police be notified immediately and that the utmost caution be displayed," writes the East Police District in a statement.

The police are still asking for advice on this. If someone sees the car, he asks to be contacted by the emergency number 112.

The owner questioned

The police direction, Kripos, PST, the customs administration and the health authorities are notified.

The East Police District has put in place great exploration resources to find the car. The car belongs to a courier company in Romerike and the owner is questioned.

The owner did not want to comment on the case before NRK, but told Dagbladet this weekend that cyanide was always packaged in a plastic pallet and that the container was unlocked.

"I have no reason to believe that it is nothing other than an ordinary car theft," he said.

We still do not know where the cargo was or why the van was left in the parking lot.

Should go to the hospital

The director of pharmaceutical procurement for all Norwegian health companies, Bente Hayes, told NRK on Sunday that the shipping and storage rules were probably broken.

The shipment of pharmaceuticals was probably sourced from a Swedish supplier and was intended for several Norwegian hospitals.

The plastic container containing cyanide is small, white and has a red lid, according to the police. It is not certain that it is marked.

Cyanide is an extremely toxic substance found in the form of gas, liquid and powder. It can be fatal and can be used to develop an even more dangerous substance, hydrocyanic acid.

The stolen car was a Mercedes Sprinter 2018 model bearing the CV 88344 registration number. It is silver in color and does not carry any particular marking.
