The electric edition of Soul has been a big hit for Kia here at home. Here the Koreans were very early in an electric car. And so, they had a lot of new customers, many of whom probably had not considered a Kia earlier.
Today's Soul has been on the market for several years and has also been undergoing improvements along the way. The range was 212 km at the beginning, it eventually increased to 250 km.
Both figures are measured by the outgoing NEDC standard (and too good). This means that a radius of about 150 kilometers is a more realistic scope for the Soul Edition that you can buy now.
Hard front
But next year, things will really happen. Kia is currently introducing a whole new generation of Soul at the Los Angeles Auto Show. And only one thing can prevent that from becoming a grandmother in Norway. More on this later.
What do we have here? A car like this is true to its roots. Soul is really out since his first appearance. He will continue to do so.
After reviewing it, we are a bit unsure of the backlighting going up and down the roof. But the front is hard. The interior has a real boost. It was necessary. It looks much better now – and it's also better when you touch
things. The back seat is incredibly spacious, with very high ceilings.

Much longer
But if there are no major changes in the design, it has happened even more under the hull. The edition of today has a battery of 30 kWh. The new gets 64 kWh! We are talking about more than doubling. It has an electric motor of 204 hp and a couple
at 395 Nm.
"The range is much longer than the current model," says Kia himself in full extent. But the battery is the same as the Kia e-Niro, slightly larger. Here, it gives a range of 485 kilometers, after the new
and a stricter WLTP measurement method.
Soul is a smaller car, in return, this gives the Butte a length in advance that is not as aerodynamic as the e-Niro. Should we guess that the range becomes about the same?

More equipment
Driving characteristics should also be improved, with an independent suspension behind and you can choose from four different driving modes; Eco, Comfort, Sport and Eco +. The different modes control the degree of regenerative braking, air conditioning and speed
the ability to adjust the speed limit to optimize efficiency under different driving conditions.
The pilot systems include shift-by-wire equipment and a 10.25-inch touch screen with back-up camera. The infotainment system is supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a wireless connection via Bluetooth with voice recognition.
Can we have cars?
Active safety systems include a collision alert, a file change alert, a driver maintenance alert in case of fatigue and an alert for cross traffic behind. Buyers can choose from two editions, Soul EV and Soul EV Designer Collection.
In addition to everything from the standard model, you have the Designer Collection's two-color paint, the Harman-Kardon 10-speaker audio and audio amplifier, the smartphone charger and the leather steering wheel.
New Soul is expected to visit Norway in the second quarter of 2019, practically between March and July. The big question will obviously be whether the importer gets enough cars to meet the demand.
In recent years, the Norwegian importer has even bought a number of cars from other European countries. We also know that the new e-Niro will have an important delivery time. Therefore, there may be a reason to fear the waiting lists too
Soul, we probably know more about the subsequent launch.
