Nine people are evacuated.
"It's an old business building that burned down," says Per Algrøy, director of operations for the West District Police District.
Two neighboring buildings with a total of 17 people were evacuated under the mighty fire. Eight people have returned to one of the buildings, while nine people are still evacuated because of the smoke.
The fire department wrote on Twitter that there was a lot of wind and that they worked hard to prevent increased proliferation.
"He was a big guy when we got there," says the head of the Ole-Marius Røttingen fire department.
Just before 06:00, firefighters report that the fire is out. It will last long after.
Road closed
The building as Brant is located at the intersection of Sundt Road and Nesttunvegen. There must be more shops in the building, but no apartments.
The road through the Nesttun center is closed to traffic in connection with the fire.
"As far as we know, there was no one present in the house who burned," says Algrøy.
Discovered taxi light
The fire was discovered by a taxi passenger on the way to Flesland.
"He did not have time to stop, but called and reported that he had broken into the Nesttun bicycle shop," said the deputy chief of the police, Frank Åstveit.
Police were informed of the fire from 4:07 am to Thursday evening.
