Former coach Marit Bjørgen becomes bank manager

Svein Tore Samdal, 47, has accepted the position of new CEO of BN Bank. Samdal succeeds Gunnar Hovland and arrives on December 1, 2018.

"The board is pleased to succeed Gunnar Hovland after his extensive experience in the financial sector." Samdal has recently developed personal markets in SpareBank 1 with very good results and will bring solid experience to his new role as head of GNB, said Finn Haugan, chairman of the board of directors.

Over the past five years, Samdal has been Executive Vice President of SpareBank 1 SMN and was previously Deputy General Manager of EiendomsMegler 1 Midt-Norge for seven years.

Aged 47, from Støren, lives in Trondheim and was from 2001 to 2006 director of Norway's national cross-country team. He was also the personal trainer of the best winter Olympics, Marit Bjørgen.
