The planting was recently carried out and, in the media, there was talk of a company in crisis. The week before the presentation of the fourth quarter of 2018 figures, Chief Daniel Juhlin joined the next day as President. Now he has a replacement. Olav Thorstad takes over.

– What is it that tempts you with planting in trouble?

– It's an exciting segment. The company has a lot of untapped and untapped potential. It's absolutely the dream job, says the new boss.

Thorstad previously led the Sats training chain, where he sat until last year.

In February, DN announced a complete crisis in Plantasjen, after the proprietary company Ratos had submitted its figures for 2018. Next, Ratos listed the value of Plantasjen at SEK 600 million.

In May, Ratos released the first quarter figures, which showed that Plantasjen's operating profit before amortization was minus NOK 147 million (EBITDA). The company achieved a turnover of 576 million NOK in the first quarter.

– The numbers are not so good. How are you going to change it?

– It works hard. I think the industry is exciting and we are in a good position in the market. Much can still be done. For example, in the green wave where green growth can be exciting. But I am new here and I have not planned in detail what to do.

The new boss says that the first thing to do is to get to know the company.

– I want to talk to as many people as possible and understand where the shoe is printed.(Conditions)Copyright Dagens Næringsliv AS and / or our suppliers.
