Audi continues its adventure in the electric car sector and presents for the first time the E-Tron GT concept car. The car was shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday night, Norwegian time.

It is a full blood electric sports car, which will be produced in two years. The engine power is 434 kilowatts, with a front engine and a rear engine.

Hundreds are eliminated in 3.5 seconds, while 200 kilometers at the hour are reached in just over 12 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 240 kilometers at the hour.

Audi boasts of being able to accelerate completely several times in a row, unlike some competitors. There is enough Tesla that they have in mind.

Low, wide and wide

The car is particularly low with only 1.38 meters to the ceiling, but is both large (4.96 meters) and wide (1.96 meters). The distance between the axles is 2.9 meters.

In addition, the E-Tron GT is made from lightweight materials such as carbon and aluminum. Here, the weight is placed as much as possible in the door so that the driving is sporty.

Here, there is also control on all four wheels.

The car is built on the same platform as the Porsche Taycan, called J1.

This should be relatively convenient, with a 450-liter luggage compartment, plus 100 liters under the hood. This can therefore be suitable for long daily trips.

400 kilometers and 350 kilowatts

With a range of 400 miles after the WLTP driving cycle, the car should in no way participate in the summer holidays.

The battery has a capacity of "more than 90 kilowatt hours," the press release says.

The fact that the E-Tron GT is built on the same platform as Porsche Taycan also means that it uses the same fast loading system. This is a 350-kilowatt 800-volt charging system that allows you to charge 80% of the time in 20 minutes. 80 percent is a range of 320 kilometers.

However, it is not a production car, but a "demonstration car". Thus, it is not certain that the output yield will be quite similar.

However, if we take the first model Audi E-Tron as a starting point, we will think that the concept of the E-Tron GT is not very different from the one that goes into production. The first E-Tron model, which will come into circulation early in the New Year, is relatively similar to the concept.

Delivered to customers in 2021

Between E-Tron and E-Tron GT, E-Tron Sportback, whose specifications are more similar to the E-Tron SUV, is a simple E-Tron GT.

The price of the new car is not yet known, but we dare to say that it will not be a cheap deal.

Audi writes that the E-Tron GT will be fully developed as a production vehicle by the end of 2020 and that the first deliveries will take place in early 2021.
