Strømsgodset informs that Ingebretsen is on sick leave for an indefinite period and resigns with immediate effect. He made this decision in consultation with the club, Erik Dag Knudsen and the nearest family, informs the Drammens club.

– This job brings a lot of stress and pressure. The total burden combined with history of illness means that I strongly recommend dropping out for medical reasons, says Knudsen on the club's website.

Deputy coach Håkon Wibe-Lund will lead the team on Thursday in the match against Vålerenga. Strømsgodset is now starting the hunt for a new permanent head coach.

Bad night's sleep

As a head coach in 2016, Ingebretsen was hit by a small heart attack and eventually took over the role of scout and top players.

After the resignation of Tor Ole Skullerud as a coach last year, he took over responsibility.

In the fall of 2018, the club was beaten in the relegation battle, which again became a heavy health constraint for the 51-year-old.

The club also has not had a good start to the 2019 season. It is on the qualifying site exhibited after seven rounds of series. The coach said he had had trouble sleeping with a bad night lately.

– I put a lot of pressure and stress on myself. I really wanted our club to become a tired trend, there were a lot of thoughts and little sleep. It hurts over time. Inside, I felt great support and we were very united. I want to thank everyone for their help and support, even though some people work more closely with each other than others, says Ingebretsen.

Fixed employee

For two periods as a head coach, "BP" led Strømsgodset to a silver series in 2015 and to a final in 2018.

The newspaper's director, Dag Lindseth Andersen, said the club was working on setting up a new coach.
