Launch of Nissan Leaf with a larger exposed battery

This week, Nissan will present a new version of the Leaf electric car, with greater battery power and greater engine power. This launch is postponed.

A spokesman for Nissan has confirmed to the Reuters news agency that they have postponed the launch of the car. He says it's to make sure the product's launch enjoys the media coverage it deserves.

The leader of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, Carlos Ghosn, was recently arrested in Japan on suspicion of not reporting the amount of his winnings.

In other words, Nissan does not want the Ghosn case to focus on the new sheet. The launch is likely to be in the new year.

60 kilowatt hours

This Nissan, which offers a variant with a bigger battery, was known since the launch of the new generation last year.

According to unconfirmed information, the car must be the Leaf E-plus, have a 160-kilowatt motor, a battery with a capacity of at least 60 kilowatt hours and be able to recharge a power of 100 kW. The range must be at least 32 miles after the US measurement cycle.

The Carsdirect website announced earlier this fall that the new version of Leaf would be launched in January 2019. However, they do not provide any source of information.
