Mercedes C 300 convertible – topless all year

[ad_1]

November, the temperatures are around zero degrees, the first snowfall. As usual, we have achieved the best of this year's cabin tests, this time the facelift edition of the Mercedes C-Class, with the C300 model designation. Once again, it turns out that convertibles are now cars that can be driven and enjoyed all year round. With or without a roof.

It was all five degrees when we got the car back from the Lørenskog importer. Staying and sunbathing has made it one of the last topless experiences of the year. This obviously seems "silly" to run to the ceiling in cold weather, but the experience is considerably more comfortable than it seems.

The Mercedes convertibles are equipped with an air scarf (optional) that can give you warm air in the neck. With the heated seat and the air nozzles placed in the direction of your hands, that's fine. You are considerably warmer than pedestrians on the outside of the car. Let them believe!

We must admit that after all, we drove the car the most with the roof. On the ceiling, you quickly forget that it's a convertible. It is only in the tunnels that the noise level is perceived to be higher than in a classic coupe. The efficient heating system is a pleasure and gives you a warm interior in no time.

Exterior design on which we should not dwell too much. The car looks good, with and without a roof. The facelift is very moderate and you have to know the difference between a 2017 model and a new model 19.

The class C instrument panel has been metamorphosed, but it is more traditional than what we find, for example, in classes A and E. It is at least both modern and pretty, with electronic instruments but with an independent screen in the center, much more modern than before.

In all, you get a feeling of great quality in a new class C. The quality of materials is impeccable. Our premium car was equipped with a lightweight and comfortable leather, an AMG package, a premium package plus, an Artico dashboard, a console Central wood and ambient lighting, which adds an extra touch to your i-one.

The C300 implies that the car is equipped with a four-cylinder gasoline engine of 258 hp. A sex man had really been in such a car, the "downsizing" being sadly the case in most automotive industries. If you swear that the volume and noise will be more important, you will enter the AMG C43 with 390 hp, with a starting price of 365,000 kroner higher. Then you get a sports car and a cruise car.

We also notice that the C300 is not much more expensive than the C200 (184 hp). Only 45,000 crowns distinguish the two models. The C200 is also available with 4MATIC, which makes it $ 5,000 less than a C300. Here you have to look at the model of use. A summer car does not necessarily need 4x4s.

The C300 manages the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds and reaches a maximum torque of 370 Nm. The car actually looks a little smoother than the theory suggests, but after all, it's of a vehicle that does not invite you to heavy driving.

A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard in all C-Class editions. It's an efficient box, but we think it's hesitating a lot and that it's not as fast as we would like it. We have experienced more responsive cases both in other Mercedes models and in other high – end German products.

With a travel assistant package, you get a car that is largely self-propelled, but the car will quickly inform you if you are not holding the wheel. Of course, the car keeps the correct distance to the front of the car and follows the lines. When you use the viewer, it also modifies the file. We think that these systems are starting to get very good.

We can summarize that we really enjoyed the C-Class Convertible, despite the season. It looks good, with and without a roof, and comes with an infinite amount of supplements and accessories that make it remarkable. Here is just the roof plaster, all year round.
