The popularity of the game has dropped sharply in recent years, but maybe a new heir can come in and bring the game to a new level?
At least Microsoft has unveiled Minecraft Earth, a free AR-based game inspired by Pokemon Go, but no longer taking advantage of it.
Minecraft everywhere
Available for iOS and Android devices later this year, the game will allow you to explore the Minecraft universe in the real world. As you walk through the streets, you can see monsters, buildings and animals on display. But since this is an RA game, you see all these things as a team above the environment around you.
– The way we thought about this game is that everywhere you look, you can see Minecraft. This introduces Minecraft into your real life, said Minecraft director Stephen McHugh yesterday to reporters.
Microsoft has also released the first official trailer of the game. This seems undeniably promising.
Minecraft Earth is launched in a beta once during the summer, the exact date is not yet known. A full global launch is expected to take place later in 2019.
