Non Stop War: Low prices of stores in battle for Christmas customers

Chain stores report fierce competition over the price of non-stop and several other popular items for Christmas.

"Yes, it is true that the price of Non Stop has been reduced in recent weeks because of the fierce competition between the chains. We fight hard for the price every day and they still move, says Kristine Aakvaag Arvin, Communications Manager, Kiwi, Romerike Leaf.

According to chains, hundreds of goods are down, and the decline in the Non Stop price illustrates this trend well. The 185 gram bag now costs NOK 31.50 for the Kiwi, compared to NOK 43.90 normally.

– Good prices

In the newspaper preview, the cheapest is Rema 1000, which displays Non Stop at 26 crowns and at 90 øre – 10 øre less than the kiwi.

"We want to get good prices on a variety of Christmas items, including Non Stop for Christmas," said Fredrik Jahr, communications manager at Rema 1000.

Menu also confirms that they are in the nonstop war, with a price of 31.50.

Changes several times a day

But how much does Coop cost?

– I will check the price non stop. It is not certain that it costs the same today as yesterday. Prices can be adjusted several times a day, says Harald Kristiansen, head of communications at NTB.

He also takes the opportunity to say that they have dropped the prices of "about 150 items" because they know that customers need Christmas.

After a few minutes, Kristiansen sent an e-mail: "The non stop price was Thursday morning 26.90 at our Extra low price."

Thus, Coop and Rema seem to wage war without interruption – at least until now.
