Norwegian "Pode" honored with Nordic Game Awards

(PressFire.no): On Thursday night, the Nordic gaming industry was to be honored at the Nordic Game Awards, part of the Nordic Game Conference development game.

A bunch of Norwegian games were nominated in the different categories, and this was certainly not a winner too.

"Pode", developed by the company Bergen Henchman & Goon, won the category "Best Art", in fierce competition with "Fe", "Unravel 2", "Planet Alpha" and "Battlefield V".

– In "Pode", the beauty develops from an empty geometry and animates through lush, plantable and shiny crystals. Games are a form of art that requires collaboration between the player and the game, writes the jury in its justification.

– This is perfectly demonstrated in "Pode" – where you create something together.

– I really did not expect that, exclaimed Markus Eikemo Sørensen, a lighter fool, when he accepted the price. He is behind the graphic style of the game, and then it seemed good that he was on stage.

– I would like the rest of the team to be here. It is a group of people with whom it is pleasant to work.

The Nordic Games this year have become "A Way Out" by Josef Fares.

The other winners are:

Nordic game of the year

"Battlefield V" by EA DICE (SE)

"Brawling stars" from Supercell (FI)

"Forgotton Anne" from Througline Games (DK)

"graft" from Henchman & Goon (NO)

"Warhammer: Vermintide 2" from Fatshark (SE)

Nordic game of the year: "An exit" from Hazelight (SE)

Jury Reason: The story told through this game can only be made using computer games. What happens on the screen is just one aspect of the "Away Out" experience, because the heavy moral choices that have been made will come back to you and your partner long after the election. The end result is an experience rich in powerful metaphors for life and human values.
