21 years have passed since Toyota launched its first-ever Prius. This is the beginning of what has become a major hybrid success for Toyota.
The Japanese automaker has almost built the hybrid car market. The Prius was the pioneer and was a very important car for Toyota, also at home.

The Prius AWD-i is called this edition, which is now on show at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It comes with a new four-wheel drive electric system that offers improved maneuverability and, most importantly, improved accessibility.
The 4×4 system uses its own electric motor to drive the rear axle, if necessary. It is designed to automatically enter and drive at speeds of up to 10 km / h when sensors detect that tires have little grip, such as
on snow and ice, and at a speed between 10 and 70 km / h.

Design changes
The additional electric motor is compact and lightweight and the system does not require a differential or intermediate shaft; the space on luggage and energy efficiency are therefore very little affected.
The AWD-i hybrid model is equipped with a new compact nickel battery designed to provide optimum performance, even in cold weather. The Prius front-wheel drive is equipped with a new lithium-ion battery.
Toyota has also made some changes to the design. New and smaller LED headlights emphasize a horizontal line. The new lamps also light up more widely than before. The tip of the bumper has been raised to provide a consistent line
