This confirms Åsane in a press release released Thursday.

– Åsane Fotball and Mons Ivar Mjelde have agreed to end the cooperation when the contract expires on 31.12.2018, says the message of the club.

"The board thanks Sense for his efforts and will point out that a number of local players have gained experience from the OBOS league during his training period and that four players have won contracts in the Elites series, "he said in the club's message.

Bishop Ivar Mjelde took over Åsane in 2017.

– The decision is made. I do not train Åsane in 2019. Now, I wish them good luck, tell Tell from the start of the club to BT.

Mjelde is considered one of Brann 's most successful coaches over the years after leading the club to gold in 2007 as coach. He has also coached Bryne, Start and Fredrikstad at the highest level.

Åsane has already started looking for Mjeldes' replacement.

"In our search for a new coach for Åsane, we will focus on a coach who wishes to help Åsane players and the mountain region to evolve into the Norsk Toppfotball," said the club.

Åsane has retired from the OBOS league after losing in qualifying matches against KFUM Oslo.
