(Nettavisen): The Hungarian low-cost carrier, Wizz Air, will start next year with three routes from Gardermoen, which reports air traffic24.
The company is one of Norway's toughest competitors. The three new routes will serve Budapest, Gdansk and Krakow, which means difficult competition for Norwegians who already serve these destinations.
According to Flugsmart24, Gdansk is the first to leave the country and will start on April 4 with prices of about 200 kroner per road.
There could also be other connections from Gardermoen, the company has made it clear that it will be betting on the airport. In charge of communication at Wizz Air, Andras Rado will not specify which routes could interest the company.
"We are interested in new markets that can contribute to the growth of the company," he said.
In addition, Rado reports to Flugsmart24 that the company's commitment is still based on finding new profitable routes, as well as on ensuring sustainable growth, including on existing routes.
Gardermoen does not know Wizz Air, but has been operating for many years with several Norwegian regional airports – Sandefjord Torp, Kristiansand, Bergen, Stavanger, Haugesund, Ålesund, Trondheim and Tromsø.
