Opera Software unveiled this week a brand new browser for Windows specifically designed for people particularly interested in video games. Some special features may also be for other users.
In particular, we then think of the possibility for users to set limits on the amount of memory and processor capacity available to the browser. In Opera GX, this is called GX Control.
Some browsers provide approximately enough available memory – often with good intention. However, on systems with limited RAM memory or multiple memory-hungry applications, the use of browser memory may be perceived as a problem.
Get rid of the browser
– Starting a game can take a lot of effort on your part. Even more if you play streaming. Until now, players have often closed their browser so that the gaming experience is not reduced. "We discovered that the GX Control feature allowed users to play smoothly, without compromising on their use of the Web," said Maciej Kocemba, product manager at Opera GX, in a press release.
The new browser, now available in a preliminary test version, will also simplify the connection to Twitch and will have its own published "corner" for video game offers and news.
The browser also includes visual components and sound effects reminiscent of those of game consoles. At the same time, it should offer the same functionality as the classic Opera browser.
The final version of Opera GX should be expected later this year.
