Last fall, a small plane crashed on the ground at Holmestrand.
Two men in the 40s, both of Holmestrand, died in the accident.
Now, HAZA has reviewed the accident and, according to a recent report, the pilot had limited experience of the aircraft model. The pilot had also not received sufficient training and did not understand the characteristics of the aircraft.
Many and weight
According to the departmental director Kåre Halvorsen of the Havarikommission, the most important learning point of the report is the importance of taking into account the weight and balance of a small plane.
"A few years ago, the rule was changed: pilots are allowed to conduct a self-check of the plane if they know of similar planes," Halvorsen said.
He says the pilot of this plane was a very experienced enthusiast with other types of aircraft.
"We believe that the Civil Aviation Authority should draw up a list with the help of those who carry out an automatic check of important points," Halvorsen said.

The Commission considers that the pilot also did not have the necessary rights to travel by air.
The accident should have occurred when an attempt to maneuver the hammer head was attempted. After a vertical increase at full engine power, the speed of the aircraft was reduced so that it remained stationary.
The aircraft should then fall back and turn left until the pilot loses control of the aircraft. When the plane has the spine, it becomes difficult for the pilot to steer it.
"It is important to properly control the weight and balance and make an assessment before each flight." The plane was lacking in such a shape that it was virtually possible to # 39; use.
"If a form had been used, one would find that it's not possible to be two people on this plane," says Halvorsen.
More witnesses
Testimonies and video recordings indicate, according to the report, that there was no indication that the pilot was about to regain control of the spine.
Many of the witnesses in the accident were schoolchildren. The municipality of Holmestrand quickly formed a crisis team and went to the Ekeberg School that same afternoon.
One month after the Holmestrand accident, an equivalent accident occurred in Hamar.
