Win contracts on three platforms

Rolls-Royce has signed contracts for the delivery of anchor equipment for two new buildings and an old reputation.

The new construction takes place on the KeppelFELS shipyard in Singapore and the China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) in China, while the upgrade concerns Stena Don.

For the project in China, Rolls-Royce will provide a 12-point anchoring system with chains featuring the new R6 degree. This new chain quality is now the strongest on the market, raising the standard by increasing the capacity of the anchor system by 480 tonnes per winch.

The equipment is classified by both CCS and DNV GL.

The chains have a minimum load of 1048 tons and the equipment must be mounted on a new platform with CM-SD1000 designed by CMHI at the Jiangsu site.

For the project in Singapore, Rolls-Royce will provide a 12-point anchor system with a capacity of 450 tons per winch and a minimum static braking power of 1030 tons. This solution will be installed on the new Moss CS 60 ECO design platform, built by KeppelFels shipyard for Awilco Drilling. These winches benefit from the same new lubrication system and control system as those described above. Earlier this year, Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine announced the signing of a major engine and propeller contract for the same new Awilco aircraft.

In addition, the Stena Don platform is in possession of the Damen Verolme shipyard in the Netherlands to install a new 8-point anchor system that was signed with Rolls-Royce earlier this year. This Moss CS30 platform was built in 2001 and was not previously anchored. It is now available in a larger market.
