Regarding testing, another reader asks: “Are there any rapid (COVID antigen) test sites that don’t cost hundreds of dollars or require you to show symptoms?“:

“With the vacation around the corner, I asked a cousin to ask about the rapid COVID (antigen) tests as they will be crossing the area after Thanksgiving. I did a bit of research on my own, but looking at AbbottLabs, Preston’s Pharmacy, and a few others it seems like at least $ 150-200 minimum. For some hospitals, it looks like you need to show symptoms to be eligible for the rapid test. Has anyone managed to use their insurance to pay for rapid tests not at GW, MedStar, etc.? Does anyone know if there are cheaper options in the area? I know we are in a very good position with PCR testing because my friends in many other states are having trouble just accessing a free COVID testing site without symptoms.
