One study suggests that brief sweat exercises help to lose more weight than running or doing a long workout.
The researchers found that 23 minutes of high intensity interval training were more effective than 41 minutes of conventional workout.
This resulted in a 29% greater weight loss than traditional gym sessions.
The findings suggest that HIIT might be perfect for people too busy to adhere to the recommended guidelines to exercise at least an hour each day.

As a general rule, HIIT involves 30 seconds of intense effort, such as sprinting, cycling or burpee practice, followed by short recovery periods.
British and Brazilian researchers examined 36 studies involving more than 1,000 people. But they warned that the HIIT system resulted in an increased risk of injury or heart fatigue.
Mr. Ward added, "The most important thing is to find a pleasant and sustainable exercise program."
