The hidden face of the moon is not just the name of a 70's Pink Floyd album. It's also a goal of several space organizations who want to know if the moon's side we can not see will be different. China had already shown interest and early in the year their investigation of Chang'e had landed successfully.

In the findings published in Nature, the country's lunar vehicle has detected signs of lunar material in the mantle, which could help scientists better understand how the Earth and the Moon formed.
According to scientists, they think that at the very beginning, they were already covered with an ocean of magma. Over time, it cooled and became solid, allowing denser materials to stay deep in the ocean, while less dense materials floated to the surface. That being said, before taking the lead, some scientists have warned that this study might not be conclusive.
However, whether the findings are conclusive or not, scientists recognize that the discovery of these materials is a feat in itself.
