The pediatrician's office says it will no longer treat patients who are not vaccinated

(WMBF) A pediatric office in South Carolina now rejects patients who are not vaccinated.

Tamara Pickett is taking her unvaccinated daughter to CPG Pediatrics since she was about 6 months old.

"That's one of the reasons we came to the office because we had been informed that they were accepting patients who had not been vaccinated or who were not considering it." not to vaccinate, "she said.

During a recent visit, she learned that her 2 year old daughter would no longer be treated in this city unless she was vaccinated. Picket asked for written proof of the newly established policy. The official letter she received circulates on social media.

CPG Pediatrics said that it was a policy put in place for the safety of their patients.

"The fact that unvaccinated children go to a pediatric office where many children are at very high risk of acquiring vaccine-related illnesses seems completely inappropriate," said Dr. Marc Bahan.

Dr. Bahan said it was a necessary protection given the number of patients they care for and whose immune system is weakened.

"We have patients on cancer chemotherapy, we have patients coming here with severe congenital heart disease, all of which can potentially die if they contract one of these diseases," he says.
