Waze may soon lose one of his biggest differentials. According to the Android Police Report, some users have begun to receive a report function in Google Maps in version 9.81 of the application. With this feature, it is possible to report accidents and road works, for example, in the same way as in the other map application.
Alerts should appear on the screen of other users, who can also contribute to the return. Work reported 30 minutes ago still affects traffic. Google Maps already indicates on the map prohibitions of work, but on the basis of information from official agencies and also from Waze, which was acquired by Google in 2013.
However, it is not yet known if the feature will be available soon for everyone or if it is still a test with only a few users. The incident report function began to appear in the application code but did not work, still in v9.79, the latest APK verified by Android Police.
It is also mentioned in snippets of code v9.80.2, released last week, as we were able to check but still does not work. A v9.81, where the feature was apparently enabled for at least some users, is still in beta.
