An 83-year-old driver took a pedestrian walkway, confusing the structure with a Mongaguá viaduct off the coast of São Paulo on Tuesday (25). According to the military police, the driver was sentenced to an administrative fine and managed to remove the vehicle from the place with the help of other people.
The incident occurred in the morning near the 315 km of Padre Manoel da Nobrega highway, bordered by Itanhaém, and attracted the attention of the inhabitants of the region. Police said the driver believed it was a walkway connecting neighborhoods in the seaside area to those close to Serra do Mar.
The old man managed to maneuver to climb the bridge ramp but realized that he could not continue in the structure while he was trying to return to the circul the vehicle was blocked. Other people helped him down. Army officers were fired and found that the driver was qualified and not drunk.
The driver had an administrative action, but the police did not inform the amount of the fine. No one was injured in the incident, which was recorded on video and photo by anyone who pbaded. According to the police, the incident did not injure or damage the structure of the bridge, which remained open to pedestrians.
