Cities in the Sorocaba Region Report Deaths from the H1N1 Virus | Sorocaba and Jundiaí

Women were hit three times more often than men: in total, there are 12 women against 4 men.

The most critical situation is that of Sorocaba, which records 14 cases of influenza. Of these, 10 were confirmed as H1N1 and eight people died, six women and two men.

In Itu, out of 13 influenza registries, nine were tested positive for the H1N1 virus. Two men and one woman died in the city this year. Already in Salto, the town hall has detected nine cases of influenza, all by the H1N1 virus. The disease caused the death of two women by then.

In the city of Mairinque, seven people have caught the flu. Of these, three were infected with the H1N1 virus and no one died.

In Piedade, both influenza cases were confirmed as H1N1 and one woman died. In Salto de Pirapora, two cases of influenza were also recorded, with two deaths of women.

Porto Feliz has only one patient in treatment for the H1N1 at the moment. Aluminum, Araçariguama, Araçoiaba da Serra, Capela do Alto, Iperó and Votorantim have not recorded cases of the disease.

The city of São Roque has not yet released data on the disease in the city.

The national flu vaccination campaign ended on Friday (22), but the vaccine continues to be applied in priority groups and two other unaddressed audiences: children aged 5 to 9 and adults from 50 to 59 years old.

The priority groups to be vaccinated are: health workers, indigenous people, people aged 60 and over, children from 6 months to 4 years and 11 months, pregnant women, puerperal women, comorbids, teachers public and private schools, penitentiary system and the population deprived of liberty.
