The number of confirmed deaths in Bahia in 2018 increased to 27. The data was released Wednesday by the Bahia State Health Secretariat (Sesab)

According to the second bulletin of the agency, until June 23, 1,326 cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) were reported, with 107 deaths. Of this total, 277 cases were confirmed for influenza, ie 206 per subtype A H1N1.

The largest number of cases is in patients over 60 years of age and under 5 years of age, who also recorded the majority of deaths, with 59.25% of the total.

Cases of H1N1 flu have been confirmed in 51 municipalities of Bahia. Already the dead have occurred in 15 cities. Salvador concentrates the largest number. Thirteen deaths were recorded in the capital city of Bahia in 2018.

The other municipalities recorded one death each. They are: Apuarema, Camaçari, Feira de Santana, Irará, Juazeiro, Lauro de Freitas, Monte Santo, Morro do Chapéu, Retirolândia, Saúde, Sapeaçu, Serrinha, Uruçuca and Vitória da Conquista.

Prevention
