This Thursday (28), the secretary of health of Juína Leda Villaça confirmed that the doctor left the gauze on the abdomen of the patient who underwent surgery. She lamented the fact and explained that surgeries at the municipal hospital are done by professionals hired through offers. According to her, it is an isolated case.
Benedict underwent another surgery and is admitted to the unit's intensive care unit.
She apologized to the patient's parents and said that the city would investigate the circumstances of the error.
