"In cases of syphilis, the increase of new cases is greater than 60%," says Patrícia Rodrigues, coordinator of Pamdha.
With regard to syphilis, there is an additional concern. "Cases of conbad syphilis that increase the risk of infant mortality," he says.
In an attempt to reduce cases and anticipate treatment, health units will strengthen testing and disease awareness.
